- BOCHENSKI'S BRAIN was the first text written by Funkopolis almost entirely in cyberspace -- email drafts flew back and forth between the authors over its creation period. It was also the company's first comedy.
- Although Funkopolis is well-known for its slow speed creating new works, BOCHENSKI'S BRAIN has the distinction of being the longest-gestating work in our history. It originally started as a graduate school exercise by Tim in early 1999, but didn't reach performance until late summer 2002.
- For the infamous "lesbian doughnut" scene, Shannon built a foam headress that impeccably recreated a frosted glazed with sprinkles -- down to the dyed pipe cleaner sprinkles and pink fabric icing.

To rehearse this work, Funkopolis developed its first ever summer retreat, thanks to our friends at Allentown, PA's Theatre Outlet. The company rehearsed and developed the show in Allentown in July 2002, teaching classes and training new company members during their stay. |
